The Most Important Lessons from 4 Years as a Travel Sugar Baby

My name is Aly and I’ve been a travel sugar baby for approximately four years and I’ve loved every second of it. I’m 24 years old and I’m a Cali girl through and through!

But I love to travel and have lived in New York, London and Barcelona, although I always end up returning to sunny Southern Cali!

I also love fashion. Handbags are (and always have been) my ultimate weakness!

Why Did You Become a Travel Sugar Baby?

Traveling is what got me into sugaring in the first place. I may be a Cali girl at heart but I love to not only see and experience new places, but spend time living abroad.

Finances were another huge goal. Money obviously is one of the main reasons any sugar baby gets into sugaring. I was completing my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees abroad and the amount of studying I was doing didn’t leave me a lot of time for a regular 9-5 job.

And I definitely wanted to have the luxury of not having to worry about money. I had just started to acquire student loans and wanted to put a dent in them before they started to build up.

I also love clothes, handbags, makeup and all things girly. So I wanted to be able to buy these things for myself.

Aside from the monetary side of things, I also really did want to meet new and interesting people I knew I’d be able to learn from. I was in a new city and really didn’t feel like I had anything to lose from just trying it out. Haven’t regretted it once!

What do you wish you had known when you were first starting out?

I wish I’d known that you don’t have to give everyone your time. I used to reply to every single message I would get out of sheer politeness. But I’ve learnt over the years that some messages don’t warrant a response. Particularly the vulgar ones looking for a budget prostitute.

Another thing I wish I knew earlier is that basing a sugar relationship on sex might mean meeting up once or twice. But basing it on a connection leads to something long term. Plus with much better benefits so I’ve definitely become better at filtering my messages.

I’ve also become more confident in knowing what I want and telling men I speak to. Most men will appreciate your honesty and directness.

While this may mean less conversations overall, it’ll filter out men not willing to meet your needs right away.

Where and how did you meet your sugar daddy?

I met my current sugar daddy (and every other sugar daddy I’ve ever had) on Seeking.com. I was told about the site by a friend who was, at the time, in a three year relationship with a sugar daddy from the site.

I can always tell from the first 2-3 messages if it’s going to be someone I can spend time with. I like to establish the SD/SB relationship early on and I also like them to know I’m not just an escort/prostitute.

My profile picture is me on the front of a boat with a big smile on my face. I know looks play a massive part and so I am in a bikini but I mostly wanted to portray my fun side.

I also like to meet for a coffee or a drink at first. It’s less of a commitment than a dinner so if there’s no connection, you can politely excuse yourself and leave right away!

What’s your favorite thing about being a sugar baby?

I love that I’ve been able to travel (sometimes with a man, sometimes without). As a travel sugar baby, I’ve got to experience some amazing places, hotels and restaurants that I definitely would not have seen on my own.

As I’ve already said, handbags are my weakness and I don’t know if I would have ever been able to afford the ones that I have on my own!

It’s also taught me a lot about relationships in general and I know that when I choose to settle down, I really will know exactly what I’m looking for in a man. Being with an older, successful man usually means you are treated like a queen. So I definitely won’t be settling in the future.

How do you keep your sugar relationship spicy/fun/interesting?

I never bog my sugar daddy down with stress or problems. And I always try to keep things light and fun. I’m quite a fun person anyway so I like to try new things as well.

If you feel like things are getting stale, chances are your sugar daddy thinks so too. Dinners are fun but can be repetitive. Try going to a museum or a show or a scenic walk or hike.

What advice would you give sugar babies?

My biggest advice would be to know what you want before you start out. Do you want a specific allowance, do you want gifts, do you want your rent/bills covered each month? Have an idea before you start out. Also know what you’re willing to commit to time-wise. For example, will you want to meet once a week, once a month, and so on.

This is oh, so very important – in fact, being clear on a few things before you start gives you a gigantic advantage. If you haven’t yet, here are the sugar baby goals to set and sugar baby expectations you should be clear on before you start sugar dating.

Don’t set unrealistic expectations for him and always be honest. It’ll only lead to confusion in the future if you’re not. It might rule out the first ten men but the eleventh could be your perfect match!

I would also advise against falling in love with your sugar daddy. Many of them are married or don’t have time for a proper full time relationship. Hence that’s the reason they’re on the site in the first place. Demanding more than they’re willing to give will only lead to the demise of a good sugar arrangement.

The most important thing is to find someone right for you. Tt’s called a mutually beneficial relationship for a reason. You only need one good sugar daddy to fulfill your needs.

  1. I am a baby sugar daddy just starting to explore this lifestyle. I want to thank you for the pointing to the three questions.
I am applying them to myself to help me clarify what I truly want out of a sugar relationship, to get a better grasp on which babies to approach and what I can offer beyond money. Thank You.
