Tell us about yourself: who are you?
Ah, the sweet life of a sugar baby, or is it? For my fellow sugar sisters (or aspiring!) reading this, you may now have come to learn that this lifestyle can be anything but. Despite the glamorizing of sugaring across so many platforms, it can be much more daunting and complicated than meets the eye.
My name is Christina. I’m a full time student, part time intern, part time cheerleader, part time waitress. And of course the sweetest cherry on top, I am a sugar baby.
Why did you become a sugar baby?
I started my sugaring journey in the summer of January 2017, around the same time when my short term boyfriend crushed my heart. I had always been curious about life in the sugar bowl and thought now was a perfect time to act on it. With my heart still in pieces, I attempted to clear my foggy mind with a new goal in mind, to be a successful sugar baby.
I had no expectations, no boundaries and little regard as to how I wanted to approach my new found goal. I plunged myself straight into the deep end of Seeking.com by whipping up a profile and lining up as many dates as I possibly could, which wasn’t very many.
I didn’t consider whether their arrangement, goals or personality would meld with mine. All I could think about was how soon enough I could be rolling in dough with diamond studs in my ears and tiffany rings on every finger. I didn’t care about who I would have to kiss or spend my time with. I was lost in this new world and it wasn’t until my first actual sugar date when my bubble popped…
I met my first sugar daddy in a cafe near my hometown that I knew had delicious food, expensive gourmet milkshakes as well as a beautiful view near a river. He greeted me inside the cafe. We ate, laughed and enjoyed our time together.
He then asked to go for a walk around the river. If the hundreds of sugar baby articles I had binged read the night before taught me anything, it was that this was the time to ask for details of an arrangement.
We sat by the river and discussed terms that we would both be interested in and agreed on what would make the both of us happy. Then came the dart…
By dart, of course I’m referring to his tongue. He suddenly rushed his saliva drenched tongue in and around my mouth. All while grazing my lower leg with the palm of his hand. This was definitely one of the most uncomfortable experiences of my LIFE. But the sad thing was that I felt like I owed him something. He had paid for a very expensive lunch and had agreed to a generous weekly allowance.
I felt like this meant he was entitled to my body. I felt disgusting and dirty afterwards. Like I needed 10 consecutive showers to cleanse my body of the smell and thought of his touch. Needless to say, I never saw him again.
What do you wish you’d known when you were first starting out?
That would be my first tip to aspiring sugar babies. Never place yourself in a situation where you feel uncomfortable or unsafe. You don’t owe anyone anything. Always look after your safety and do not be afraid to leave if you feel uncomfortable.
No amount of money is worth the feeling of being forced into any unwanted situation.
I’ve always had an analytical mind. I never liked math during high school, or uni, but I was good at it. It always came in handy in real life situations and assisted in deciphering a lot of problems. We learn formulas in algebra that incorporate x and y, but is there a formula for sugaring? This is my current internal debate. If x and y = successful sugar baby/ sugar daddy relationship, what are the values for x and y? Hopefully we can figure it out together.
xoxo,
Christina (a.k.a the Strategic Sugar Baby)
